Highlight for 2014

Early this year, I posted [here] "2014 The Year of Self Improvement" and I only mentioned 4 things that I wanted to improve. That much I had in my mind on that day. -__-"

Alhamdulillah this year has been more wonderful with Nur Amni Thaqifah around. Even though it means double the trouble and mess. Lol! We're still enjoying her baby stage even though she has turned one year old. She can't talk back to me yet like Ahmad Iqbal. I'm glad!! Haha.. But she's very smart. And an early riser too! Ahmad Iqbal is very smart too. Oh! Both of them ada dua pusar on their head which people always say, gauk "naughty" nie drg ani. But according to Dato Dr Hj Fadzillah Kamsah, they are actually two times smarter and have higher IQ (and EQ, I hope!) too. Whichever it is, insya Allah we will try to guide them to the best path possible both worldly and for hereafter.

Looking back, I definitely managed to get my driving license. Alhamdulillah.. Finally! But I got hit by another car two weeks after I had my car. Then, I accidentally drove my car into someone else's car in the parking lot. And recently, I hit-and-run road stable and punctured both tyres on the right side. Yeap, not very good on the road. Not yet, I guess. Spent almost $1K for the three "accidents".

As for work, I've improved. I can lead better. Know my work better. But still involve a lot of manual work. So there I need to think strategically and find out jow to improve the workflow. A bit of procastinator. Still need to socialise better and ask more questions. Need to communicate better and have more self confidence. I'm auditing myself here. Haha but really, I need to improve myself. "I need to be more successful because I like expensive things" #storyofmylife #theuglytruth

Oh! And I finally managed to tick one more bag in my list. ;) More bags to tick in the coming year. I think! I've been a good girl and not adding more to the list. I really need to get that Chanel flap bag and Lady Dior bag. *cries*

So what's the highlight of the year for you? Hope all of you had a great year and better year to come, insya Allah..

Disney Princesses and Superheroes Birthday Party!

Since both Iqbal and Amni were born in the same month, we decided to celebrate their birthdays together. I didn't have much time to plan though.

We planned to have a party at a playground. At first, we wanted to have a pool kinda party but since it has been raining the past month, we cancelled it. So playground it is. We ordered cakes from Bakerlyn (3 years straight!!!), then bottle wrapper and cupcake topper with to match the theme, which Iqbal eventually choose Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Alhamdulillah the party went better than expected. Especially guests attendance. Really happy to see everyone who came. Seeing the kids having fun in the playground. Such a blessing. Just a small celebration next year I think. Hehe..

Ahmad Iqbal turns 3!

Mini celebration for Iqbal tonight for his 3rd birthday. Next year he'll starts school and that will definitely be another milestone and adventure for us as parents. *deep breath* Haha.. He's a big boy now. Time flies~ I still remember how cute and adorable he was when he was little. Keke.. And he still is! Just a little different. He has a good sense of humour too, although still naughty sometimes towards his sister. He loves attention, that's for sure! -__-"

Happy Birthday babyboy! Ibu doakan Iqbal jadi anak yang baik, penyayang, hormat orang lain, pandai, dimurahkan rezeki, dirahmati dan dilindungi Allah selalu.. Aamiin!!! Ibu, ayah and Amni love you so so much Abang!!! :D *lots of hugs and kisses*

Blush Palettes

I posted this picture on IG about a week ago. I'm so in love! They are so pretty!

That's the thing about holiday collection. I just love them all. Last year I love their eye palettes and managed to get few. This year is the blush palettes. I got one of these blush palettes already. Tarte. :DDDD I'm still torn with Benefit because of the packaging and Hourglass because of the price. Hmm..

An Afternoon in the Park

There have been many times that we wanted to bring the kids to the park. Tapi selalunya inda jadi. Why? Because the kids were sleeping in the car. Today they were but it was over an hour, so we just woke them up.

Amni was really excited. She didn't want me to carry her, instead she wanted to walk. Walk on the grass some more. Pavement is too mainstream for her. Lol! While on the other hand, Iqbal wanted his dad to carry him. Haha! Ok lah, he just woke up anyway. Manja-er ok!

I'm so glad that we finally able to bring them to the park. Taman Jubilee to be exact. They had fun playing at the playground. Not much socialising though especially Iqbal. -_-"

Enjoy the rest of your weekend loves!

Amni Thaqifah turns One!

Time sure flies. Where has the one year gone to? I can't believe that my baby girl is already one!

The second child. She sure is braver than her brother. Started walking earlier than her brother. Very 'dramatic' especially before or after her brother 'hits' or 'pushes' her. Sometimes she even smartly lay down first before Iqbal can pushes her. Lol! She knows how to save herself these days. Except when she didn't expect his brother to do it. There's just so much thing to talk about Amni. She's very smart, brave and independent, that's for sure.

We had a mini celebration at home tonight. It's funny to see how she was amaze looking at the candle lit. While Iqbal at the other end, kept on blowing the candle whenever he had the chance. So much happiness looking at them both, made me feel really blessed. Alhamdulillah.. I can't thank Allah enough for all the things that He gave us. I hope I can be a good mother to them first then a friend who can listen to them whenever they need me in the future. Insya Allah..

Happy Birthday my Baby Girl!!! If you get to read this one day, I really love you very very much. Ayah and abg Iqbal love you very very much too! I hope you know that. And for everything that I might say or do, insya Allah it will always be for your best interest.

Long Weekend

It has been a while since my last post. I really miss writing. I wish I have more time so I can write my heart out. *cries*

It's the end of another long weekend this month. Almost, in less than an hour.

I have taken my leave since Thursday because Dearest Dad was having his angioplasty operation at JPMC. Sent him there in the morning with mom and Amni, and then left mom there to stay with dad. Mom decided to check-in at Empire and dad was discharged that afternoon. So both of them were staying at Empire for two nights to REST.

Although we did crash their stay because I just had to bring my kids to the swimming pool. Teehee! Both Iqbal and Amni was really excited. For Amni, that would be her second time this month. We also checked-in earlier this month during the long weekend. She was really excited to explore the pool and became braver with the water! I wish I could capture all the smiles and excitements. And for Iqbal, he refused to go out from the pool after almost two hours staying in the pool. Errkk! Does toddler even allowed to be in the pool for that long?!! I should google that up!

Anyway, I hope you all had a great long weekend break and feeling refreshed! I'm sure we had! Alhamdulillah.. Definitely looking forward for another long weekend! ;)

Family Planning

I don't think we had a proper family planning after we had Iqbal. I was fully breastfeeding him for a year and over, so that was somewhat our family planning. When Iqbal turns one year old, I had my first period after so long. And I believe that was my only period because after that we found out that we're pregnant with Baby Amni.

This time around is however different. I'm not able to fully breastfeed Baby Amni. Only at night. And I had my period when Amni was only 9 months. So obviously, we do not want another baby anytime soon. That's when we started talking about doing family planning.

I believe there are few options for family planning - tablets, injection (depo) and also IUCD. I settled on IUCD although the idea is quite scary. Seriously, having something stuck in your uterus is scary! But we want a longer break. For now, we want to give our full attention to both Iqbal and Amni.

I had the procedure done today. The Doctor tried to explain other options since we're still young but we've already decided. The procedure was quick and if you've ever done Pap Smear, it's just like that but a tad bit longer. 5 mins! We were told this method is effective for 5 years and yearly check-ups will be done. The gap we wanted is actually shorter, perhaps 3 or 4 years and guess what? We can request for it to be removed earlier. That's good right? At least I'm worry free. We are, I meant. Especially if I'm taking tablets! - what if I forgot to take it everyday and at the same time?!! It defeats the purpose!

I hope you will not judge me us for doing this. A baby is rezeki from Allah SWT. We know. We are not refusing His rezeki, rather to appreciate and enjoy the rezeki we have now. Family planning is your choice afterall.

More Bags in My List

Since I am on Ban Island, I thought I should list all the bags that are in my wish list to date. *lol* I mean, how can one have more bags in list after finally getting one the list? *slaps forehead*

Apart from these bags that are high in my wish list in this post [here], Chanel Classic Flap bag and CD Lady Dior bag, I have added few some more in my list.

1. Louis Vuitton Capucines

2. Chanel WOC (or a wallet)

3. Prada BN1801 - still torn in getting this as I have read reviews that the stitching came undone after use

4. Fendi Petit 2Jours

5. Givenchy Antigona in small

I mean, if I could have one bag per designer then yes, the above are the bags I want to have. With exception for Louis Vuitton and Chanel. I want them in more than just a piece in my collection.

So do you have new bags in your list? ;)

Eid Mubarak

I hope it's not too late to wish everyone here "Selamat Hari Raya" or Eid Mubarak! It's coming to its end soon and I actually have a lot to share.

This year is our first Raya with two kids (obviously!) - an active toddler and also, an explorer baby. Hence, we only get to go to some houses this year. There were invites that we could not make it especially during their nap time. For Amni, that would means two to three times a day and once for Iqbal. Sometimes we only brought along one of them. We just couldn't handle both of them together on our own. *cries*

Alhamdulillah I get to see their developmental milestones these days. Iqbal has started making few sentences. I heard people say about "terrible two", I guess he's in that phase now and I'm really hoping for it to go away soonest possible. Lol! He started singing on his own too although there's few wrong words. Still breastfeeding before he sleeps at night. We've been trying to wean him off but fails every time. I'm hoping for him to be ready for school. Hmm but he's very clingy to his dad too nowadays.

As for Amni, she is still toothless at 9 months! A little picky with food. Can crawl up the stairs which always scared me and everyone in the house. She has started to learn walking, still wobbly trying to balance herself. She seems to be more independent than her brother. She would cry for me to take her when I got back from work everyday. Sweetest gesture melts my heart every time! Ohh I just love my babies so so much! I don't know how would I be without them.

I hope I'll be able to write soon. I have few more things to share. :D

I'm on Ban Island

The last bag I bought was the Sofina 2.1 bag early this year which unfortunately I have not been using. The bag is rather big on me. So I'm just keeping the bag. Hanging. Not much being loved. Pretty sad actually. I do not want to sell it or give it to my sisters. Haha :P Anyway, that is not the point.

I had been lusting over this bag for over a year. I actually still in disbelief that I managed to get this bag. I emailed the boutique almost every month this year to no avail, but the day before my birthday I received this good news that it is available. And I just had to ask my brother in law who's currently studying in London to help me get the bag. Lol! There were hiccups in buying the bag, but in the end, I still got THE bag. :D

What bag you may ask, it's a Chanel PST. It's one of their classic pieces, a starter investment before I'm finally digging my brain to buy the Classic Flap despite the price increases. But after a year being a working mom to finally have a Chanel bag, it's pretty amazing. To me, at least. Not that I buy bags every other month. :P My next target would be the Classic flap! Let's save more, shall we? :D

Another bag I bought online and again I had to ask my brother in law to bring it home is from Modalu England. Their mini Pippa bag. The bag is named after Pippa Middleton after they saw her using the bag. I love this bag. It's has lots of compartments so I can be more organised. The size is perfect. I love that it has a sling as well.

Because of these two bags that I bought recently, I am now on Ban Island. :P

Apparently this is my 246th post. Perfect! Bags for my 28th birthday. :D

Ramadhan Mubarak

It's already our 8th day of fasting today. Alhamdulillah.. I managed to do my duty this year after three years!! Truly grateful!! How are u guys doing?

The first year I couldn't as I was pregnant with Iqbal, second year was because I was still fully breastfeeding him and third year, I was pregnant with Amni. Though I'm still breastfeeding both Amni and Iqbal at night, Alhamdulillah I can still do so even though I'm fasting. Just need to hydrate myself with lots of water during and after sungkai. Hehe

During the working weekdays, the day went by so fast. But weekends, I tried not to look at the time so often. Lol! So I just do the house chores. Oh I am taking gastric pills on daily basis though so I can tahan puasa. I did miss taking it one day, the next day I barely can stand it. :/

Selamat berpuasa everyone. May all of us be bless this year. I pray for all our good deeds will be accepted and we can wash away our sins during this holy month. Sad that I still can't do terawih this year with these babies. Insya Allah, will do it when they are a little bigger. Might just gna bring them both. Teehee!

Short Vacation to KK

The week before the long weekend we had for the Armed Forces Anniversary, my family, parents and I went to KK for a short weekend vacation. I must admit, there were not a lot of shopping going on. One, we have a toddler and a baby. What do you expect? Hehe :P Second, Suria Sabah is not as exciting as One Borneo to be honest. Well, that's about it. I actually enjoyed the time with my family the most when we were there.

That's the view from our hotel room. Grandis Hotel.

Them. The love of my life. ❤️

I miss blogging. While writing this, Iqbal is actually 'playing' with his baby cousin, Sofea. More like hitting her with his toys. Sighs! Boys!

Face Masks

I posted this picture in IG few weeks ago. I have been collecting face masks as I feel like it gives instant result (even if its not for long).

1. AESOP Parsley Seed Masque - my favourite mask! Its an all rounder mask - hydrating, exfoliating and deep cleansing at the same time. When it dries, it tightens and I actually felt a tingling everytime I used this which I like. I feel like it's really working and doing its job.

2. Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey mask - this is a hydrating mask. This mask however has a cream consistency, it becomes clear as the minutes go by. I like to use this whenever I feel my skin need that extra hydration. This mask is also good when there's spot trying to come out.

3. REN Invisible Pores Detox mask - this is my second favourite mask. Clay based mask that I like to use when I don't like looking at my pores, when I feel like I'm having blocked pores or when I see my pores and blackheads looking more obvious. My go to mask when my skin needs help. Not sure for how long the effect lasts, will check on that.

4. REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal mask - whenever my skin is looking dull, this is what I used - my midweek go-to mask. The consistency of this mask is different, it's more of a gel type and does not dry like clay based mask.

I have few more masks in my list though. :P So far, I'm liking all of these and since they have different functions, I try to use all of them depending to what my skin requires. I use mask 2-3 times in a week. I just love them!!!

A Little Update

I can't believe tomorrow is already 31st March and I've only written ONE post so far. It's really is not easy being a working mom. Salute to all working moms out there! Same goes to SAHMs too. :D

This month has surprised is with MH370 tragedy. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. The first few days, every morning we woke up hoping that they already found the missing plane. Days go by, weeks came by and finally they conclude that MH370 ended in Indian Ocean. My prayers goes to all the families - May all of you be granted with patience and strength. Amin Ya Rabbal 'Alamin..

On a lighter note, I'm finally driving to work after a month since I've passed the test. Teehee! I was really nervous on my first day but second day was a lot better. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better and forever I'll be safe while on the road. :) It can be really scary sometimes!

What else have happened? Hmm.. Baby Amni had her first Prevanar jab yesterday and she has her own passport now! Baby Iqbal can now socialise better, while in the playground especially. That's good enough as we're preparing him for school next year. Still haven't decided which school but we have few choices already.

and it's going to be hectic for the next couple of weeks at works starting tomorrow. Can't. Wait! God pls help me! *wails* =(

February Favourites

The shortest month of the year, what do we expect? The month has definitely gone by pretty fast. And the fact that I've been working 5 days a week now makes it even faster! *sighs*

So for the past month, I have been trying out skincare products that I bought online. There are few things that I love as I can see the difference even after the first use. For skincare, I have been loving my Oskia Renaissance Gel cleanser and I already bought a backup. That just shows how much I adore that stuff! I also have been loving my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. I don't think I can be without this serum anymore. Definitely a must have! And I have also been giving my skin a treat twice a week with Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque. It's definitely an all-rounder mask - deep cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating at the same time. Super love!

And as for makeup base, I have been using my L'Oreal de Teint Foundation in shade N3 which is a perfect shade to my skin tone. It has that luminous and natural looking foundation for my every day use. The fact that I sometimes don't even need to put on concealer to cover redness around my nose and chin is definitely a plus especially in the morning. New additions to my lip products are Catrice "Don't think Just Pink" lip balm on top of Revlon Matte balm in "Sultry.  Love this duo!

I've Passed

Alhamdulillah.. One of the things in my list for this year is to finally have a driving license. I had my driving test yesterday and the examiner was kind and generous. I'm glad I had him as my examiner as I heard there are strict examiners. I was so nervous while waiting to be called but even more nervous when the examiner told me that he had passed me. Lol!

I have not been diligent with my posts this month. I've realised that I have been posting about skincare and make up. In fact, I actually took my stuffs from that post office for the last few things I ordered last month and early this month. I have one more package that hasn't arrived and they already despatched it on the 14th last month. More than a month already!

Update on the new skincare products I've been using. So far I'm loving most of them. Hehe.. I had breakouts but I think it was because of the mask I've been using. It draws the impurities out which is awesome as the zit has been wanting to come out but hadn't. Clear face now. Woot!

The Luxury Serum | Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair SynchronizedRecovery Complex II

I finally caved in with the hype around this product. It has only been couple of weeks since I started working and my skin has been feeling dry by the end of the day (end of office hours to be exact!).

I actually have been contemplating to purchase this because I don't think I need this yet. Afterall, I already bought a hydrating serum from Caudalie and another hyped-up product - Hydraluron but I do not have it with me yet. So for the past weeks I have been using the Caudalie serum and unfortunately feel it does nothing with my office central air-conditioned environment.

I have tried this serum couple of times - afterall it's only steps away from my office. See I told you my office surroundings are feeding my skincare and make up addictions. Back to the serum - it feels light, silky, a little tacky but instantly hydrates and moisturises my skin - it tempted me! So much!

My first impression for this product is AHMAZING. I put this on for the first time last night and today, my skin does not feel dry by the end of the day. Mind you, I did not use it this morning. So I replaced my night serum with this and still use Caudalie serum during the day. And today my skin interestingly does not feel dry even until after work. I'm impressed! Of course, this is only my first impression and hoping in a month or so I'd still say the same thing.

I'll come back with another review with this product soon. For now I will be using this diligently every night for at least a month and I'll tell you the verdict by then.

You can get this at Hua Ho Yayasan 30ml for B$115

Wishlist | Organic and Natural Skincare

I never imagine myself to have this wish list. I mean, I'm not a green type of person and I normally don't care what's in my skincare. Well except for Parabens, I'd prefer paraben-free products. BUT after I came across these brands and read countless of reviews of their products, I couldn't help myself to have them in my list.

The brands include Antipodes, Michael Todd, REN skincare to name a few as of today. Is there even such a thing? For Antipodes, I have a lot of their products that I want to try including their day and night cream, cleanser, mask and face oil and serums. I already bought their toner, their divine face oil and aura manuka honey mask are next in my list. I also have bought Michael Todd's Charcoal Deep Pore cleanser and Blue Algae toner last month from their site. I heard a lot of good things about these two products hence the purchase. From all the reviews, masks from REN skincare seems to be superior than other brands especially their Radiance Glycolactic mask and Invisible Detox Pores mask. I've bought the latter and will buy the other next. Such a mask hoarder!

Woah! That's definitely a lot in my wishlist. Oh! One more brand in my list is PAI skincare. I want to try their cleanser (cleanser again!) and also their Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil. That's my next face oil I want to try. Ok, I need to stop. :P

These finally arrivedddd. I purchased this in January, arrived late January and I just took them from the post office today. I can't wait to use them all especially the mask which I might start be using later tonight and slowly adding and replacing the ones I'm currently using like cleansers, serums and moisturisers. I'm really hoping that all these products will work great on my skin.

I also bought Eve Lom Discovery set which includes their well-known cleanser, rescue mask and radiance TLC cream. I bought this because I wanted to try the cleanser but knowing that it contains mineral oil which I'm not sure if it's working with my skin or not, so I'm going to keep it first.

Mid-week Pamper

I finally started working again last Monday after a long maternity leave. Supposed to report duty last two weeks but I extended my leave. I had to look after my babies while my parents went for Umrah. So it has only been a few days at work, I find it not productive as there are distractions. It's steps away from shopping mall which feeding my skincare and makeup obsessions. Gahhh! :P Anyway, I had a pampering session today just because I just bought these items yesterday - Shea body butter, Honeymania gentle scrub and Moringa Beautifying Oil. It's part of my resolution this year to take better care of myself. Afterall, I'm sure I'll need more pampering and relaxing treat once I'm overload with works. *wails*

P/S: I really love the dry oil. It smells really really nice. :D

Favourites | January 2014

I thought I'd start again doing this monthly favourites post - because I love reading about them and I also hope I'll be able to do this every month. God how was I so spendy last month! I spent so much on skincare but only one came as expected (so unfortunate!) hence not many made it to my favourites.

Since I have been on skincare obsess for the past month, I found a new cleanser - Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wash Gel (review here) which I've been using twice a day daily. Then my new day moisturiser that I ordered came. Although I have only been using it for a week, I'm already in love with it. The citrus-y smell, light texture and it doesn't look greasy or shiny after applying but still keep my skin moisturise - my new love Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser. I also have to thank my serum - Laneige Water Bank Essence and sleeping mask - Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX for keeping my skin hydrated and moisturised every night.

On to makeup, I have been using Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Sand Beige - I found Nude to have pink undertone instead of yellow or neutral which I think won't look good on me. For concealer I also have been using Revlon Colorstay concealer in Medium - it has an orange undertone and it works well on my under eye area and also red spots besides my nose. I also have been using the blusher in my Laura Mercier palette a lot last month. It gives a healthy glow on my face. Such a pretty colour! So these are the products that I have been using a lot and most loved last month.

The Forgotten Step | Bio-Essence Tanaka White Double Whitening Clarifying Softener

I should have included this in my skincare routine post [here] but I did not. Just as I've written in the title, the forgotten step.

Since I have been diligent with my skincare routine for about a month now, I finally finished this bottle few days ago. Phewh! I wrote a date at the bottom of the bottle, and found out I purchased it about a year ago. That's been too long. It's an on-off thing throughout the year I owned it mainly because I don't like to use toner. I feel like it's not making any difference but it makes my skin even more dry. So I don't see the point of using it.

But I've been really good in using toner after I found out other purposes of toner (obviously after reading Caroline Hirons blog, yes I listen to my guru). She mentioned that we need to have and exfoliating or acid toner and a hydrating toner. I'm so glad I've finally managed to finish this bottle. I haven't been using any toner since this finished and I feel like my skin is not doing so well. I'm still waiting for my toners that I've ordered few weeks ago to arrive. They should be here already! It doesn't take more than two weeks fpr shipping from UK normally. Sighs!!

Will I repurchase? No. I've few more in my list that I want to try but this is a better option as it does not contain alcohol. It will not dry your skin.

Better Cleanser | Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

As soon as I found out that foam cleanser is a no-no from Caroline Hirons (yes she is my skincare guru now), I went to Guardian to find a gel cleanser. I'm not sure about oil and milk type of cleanser, so I decided on gel instead. This cleanser does not contain any colour, fragrance - which I prefer, SLS and is soap free. Basic cleanser with no nasties. I have been using this cleanser for a month now. The texture is light and not runny. I take a dollop and rub it between my fingers then massage it on to my dry face. It does not sting my eyes but it does makes my skin feel a little tight in my earlier usage (like all cleansers that I've tried) if I don't use my toner straight away. It removes all my make up traces plus I now use a washcloth to wipe my face clean. Another cleansing method I've learned recently.

This is what Paula's choice said about this cleanser,

"This is an exceptionally basic, yet very gentle, water-soluble cleanser best for normal to dry skin that’s also sensitive. The fragrance-free formula rinses cleanly but its cleansing agent is so mild that this isn’t the best option for removing makeup or excess oil. Consider it an option if you wear minimal makeup (or are willing to use a separate makeup remover, especially for mascara) or for use as your morning cleanser. Note: the U.S. name for this cleanser is Refreshing Facial Wash Gel."

Will I repurchase? Yes but not soon. I think I'll buy this when my skin does not know what to do with itself.

Desert Island Foundation | Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

I knew about the existence of this foundation from one of Lisa Eldridge's video. Then I saw it from Pixiwoo foundation related videos and they mentioned that it is a good dupe for Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation that I have been wanting to try! So when my best friend went to UK last two years Christmas, I just had to ask her to help buy it for me.

When I first tried this foundation about over a year ago, it was LOVE. SUPER LOVE. Ever since, I only use this foundation for those special days. And events. This foundation gives a very natural look, look even better after hours wearing it. I don't need concealer to cover redness around my nose area, and if I do, it'd be just to cover blemishes. It IS that good! I want to keep it for as long as I could but we all know, for hygienic purposes that is not possible.

Shade: 53, Light Beige/ Beige Clair (slightly darker on me, has yellow undertone)
Texture: Light and runny
Fragrance: Subtle hint of fruity scents - from the ingredients used
Finish: Semi-dewy, looks natural on my dry skin
Coverage: Light to medium
Longevity: Last for over 8 hours - I sometimes used it to work, keep my t-zone looking matte for the first few hours, then my t-zone started to look shiny (blot!!).

However I could not find this foundation on ASOS and Boots anymore, although they still have it in their website. I would love to try this in lighter shade, 52 Vanilla. Having tried this foundation, makes me want to get the Chanel foundation even more. Finding the right shade online would be tricky although I may have found out which shade will suit me based on the gazillion reviews I have read.

Since I'm saving this foundation, I recently bought the reformulated Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Revealed foundation in shade 52 Vanilla and Bourjois Happy Light Illuminating Primer from ASOS. I have not tried the original formula but I'm always intrigued to find out. From the reviews I read, there are mixed reviews with the new formulation. But that didn't stop me to purchase it. Oh well. ;)

Skincare Wishlist | Omorovicza and Sarah Chapman

Since I'm such a skincare obsess now, I want to share with you my skincare wishlist. These two brands are definitely among the higher ends especially in the UK.

Omorovicza Introductory Kit £58

This is a perfect kit to learn about the brand products. According to the website, Omorovicza products are powered by a potent blend of Hungary’s mineral-rich healing waters and our patented Hydro Mineral Transference™ delivery system. This is combined with the finest vitamins, essential oils and other natural ingredients from across the globe, from the bed of Lake Heviz to the peak of the Andes mountains. Their products exclude parabens, polyethylene glycol, petrochemicals, silicones, sodium laureth sulfates, synthetic colours and fragrances which is always a plus. I'd say this kit is almost complete to try out their cult and best selling products. Included in the kit - cleansing foam, thermal cleansing balm, deep cleansing mask, queen of hungary mist and illuminating moisturiser. I have few products that I might buy in full size but I'm going to try them first to see if they are superior than what I have used.

Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanser, Facial Overnight and Intense Hydrating Booster £40, £45 and £57 resp

This brand caught my attention as Sarah Chapman is a beauty specialist and skincare expert And London’s most sought-after facialist. I mean she must know everything to do with skin to be able to create her own skincare line, right? You can check the review [here] from my favourite beauty blogger! Anna. I do find her range to be very expensive! I'm gna have to think more than twice but if I have to choose just one product (ok, this is hardddd! Ermm...) Intense Hydrating booster. I wanted to choose Facial Overnight but for the price £45 for 15ml, so the serum win at £57 for 30ml. I don't mind spending a lot on skincare but I must ensure that they benefits my skin. I mean, who doesn't want that?

Haul | Christmas Holiday 2013 Collection

CHANEL OMBRES MATELASSEES CHARMING EYESHADOW PALETTE

Perfect neutral palette. It does not have a lot of shades which somehow a newbie like me prefer since I can't match colours in the bigger palette. *wails* As much as I love bigger palettes, it hardly get any used from me. They are really pretty to look at especially the Urban Decay naked palettes. (They have the third one out already and I haven't buy any yet!). Anyway, the pigmentation is great too. From what I read, Chanel eyeshadow is not as good as the Dior ones (I need to get their neutral quads soon!) but this is a better version now.

CHANEL POWDER BLUSH IN No.84 ACCENT

While I was looking for reviews for Charming eyeshadow palette, I saw this blush and thought it was a perfect combination. Although I'm a little disappointed with the blush when I have it as it actually has gold shimmer in it. It's good that you don't need to use a highlighter anymore, but the fine shimmer goes everywhere on your face when you applying it. That's my only gripe about this blush, the colour and pigmentation is pretty nonetheless.

LAURA MERCIER COLOUR-TO-GO PORTABLE PALETTE IN NATURAL NUDES

I love this palette. As the name suggest, it is very portable and will be very handy for travel. At first, I wanted to get the NARS version of this from the Guy Bourdoin collection. However, packaging wise and price, I chose LM palette instead. I super love the blush and bronzer in this palette, looks natural. Even though this peachy pink blush has gold shimmer in it but it does not translate onto my cheeks like the Chanel one. I can't say much on the bronzer as I'm not really fond of using it. Oh and the lip gloss, it's a little bit sticky when freshly applied.

LAURA MERCIER SHIMMER EFFECTS MINI CAVIAR STICK EYE COLOUR COLLECTION

I just got this recently and have not use them. This collection includes Pink Opal, Amethyst (LOVE THIS!!!), Rose Gold and Sugar Frost. Out of the four shades, I love Amethyst the most as it's almost similar to Maybelline Bad to the Bronze. The others are lighter and a little frosty for my liking but I think I would be nice as a inner corner highlighter. When I swatched the shades, it lasts long although after 6th hour mark, the colour started to fade a little. I can't wait to use this! And I'm definitely buying more of the darker colour ones. ;) Oh! This one is definitely better than NYX, as they always crease on me even with eye primer on. *annoyed*

YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE SHINE IN No.9 NUDE IN PRIVATE

I love lipstick. Sheer ones though. I was actually torn between this and Pink in Paris (which I might buy next). This lipstick has a bubblegum smell and colour payoff is also great but, it accentuates my dry lips. This is very similar to my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy. I just need to scrub my dry lips before I use these lipsticks - it's good that it reminds me to take care of my lips better but not so much when I'm in a hurry and this is the only lipstick I have in my bag. Lol!

As you can see, everything that I bought are nudes and neutrals. I mean, who can have enough nudes and neutrals in their collection right? I've seen bloggers posting Spring 2014 collection already, a lot of pinks I must say but nothing really caught my eyes just yet although the lipstick ranges are quite tempting actually! I think I have a thing for Winter collection, I'll just wait for that. For the time being, I'm going to make full use of these lovely babies I just got. :D

Haul | FeelUnique Sale

I can't remember how and when I found out about this site. But I have always tempted to buy stuffs from them. Luckily I waited for Christmas Day to finally place an order because they gave Luxury beauty free gifts which I'm really excited about! It includes Benefit They're Real Mascara (in my Benefit wish list), Eve Lom TLC cream, Bare Minerals Big & Bright eyeliner in Espresso and Antiac Purity Clear face wash.

I bought Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (apparently we have Elizabeth Arden at Hua Ho Yayasan), Burt's Bees Baby Bee Sweet Memories gift sets for my daughter Amni and niece Sofea, BrushSoClean Conditioning Brush Cleanser for my makeup brushes obviously, and Real Techniques Sam's Pick collection which unfortunately sold out. They emailed me about it and they kindly refunded the amount. I was looking forward to try their most-praised Buffing brush. Bummer!

I experienced something rather new with our postal service. Maybe because I haven't order anything skincare related before. The notification notes from Post Office came last Saturday and I asked for Dear Husband to take it for me while I had my driving lesson. Unfortunately, they did not release my items right away although we had to pay for tax. "Waiting for Pharmacy" to check the ingredients on items that I bought. Apparently there's a strict regulation on skincare.

On a happier note (at least for me :P), I have few more items I want to buy from this site but all are currently out of stock. So I'm going to wait for their next sale ;D

Haul | Sofina 2.1

"DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY"
I finally get my hands on Vivy's inspired bag, the Sofina. I have been reading her blog for years now, before Fashion Valet even exist. That's about more than 2 years already I think. I missed my chance on their first Sofina which I prefer because it does not have the studs. Not really a studs fan but the colour caught my attention. I also bought a black plain top and a notebook. Delivery was fast as usual from the reliable DHL people. Not going to buy more unless they are going to produce the non-studded ones and maybe, a shoulder bag version of it. I don't mind the handheld/ arm-held? but having babies now, I much prefer a shoulder bag so the additional sling is really nice to have.

Don't forget to check their website tomorrow if you missed you chance to get it last time.

Skincare Matter

I mentioned before that I want to add new products to my skincare routine. I meant it and I researched for it which led me to Caroline Hirons. She's a skincare expert and also, beauty blogger. And apparently, my favourite beauty bloggers (I only started reading their blogs few months ago) are also avid readers of Caroline Hirons's blog. Ok, in short I am a skincare obsess at the moment.

According to Caroline Hirons, this is what our skincare routine should be like;
  1. Cleanse your face with a good non-foaming cleanser (oil/balm/gel - no mineral oil and no fairy liquid).
  2. Exfoliate with an acidic toner.
  3. Spray hydrate.
  4. Apply a light water-based serum to target specific skin conditions (ageing, pigmentation, scarring/dehydration etc) if that is a concern.
  5. Apply either a moisturiser (am) or a facial oil (pm) designed for your skin type.
(points taken directly from Caroline Hirons's blog here).

So for the past weeks I have been reading her blog. Going through all my favourite bloggers' blogs and read all their skincare related posts. Understanding my skin and paying more attention to it. Researching for reviews for recommended products. Shopping the products. And now, waiting patiently for them to arrive. Even worst, I'm looking for alternatives as well. *skincare obsess alert*

Anyway, so the first thing I did to revamp my skincare routine was to change my cleanser to a gel type. The only cleanser I could find in Guardian that is purely a gel type is from Simple. And for the last two weeks, my skin is looking much better. Yay!! :D

2014 The Year of Self Improvement

I had a great New Year celebration with my family yesterday. We spent our day mostly at home - doing the never-ending house chores :P and later in the afternoon, we went to Mangrove Paradise 'resort'. I'm really happy seeing Iqbal enjoying himself in the pool. Of course, daddy was there too and his uncles and aunties. His first swim was on Christmas Day and since then, he's been wanting to have another swimming sesh. We bought him a swimming suit recently hence the excitement. ;) Baby Amni had her afternoon nap when we were there. Very laid back that girl!

I have been trying to think of new resolutions for this year. Is it better to have a monthly resolution or weekly, or daily even (this is too much already!)? Last year's resolutions was not even close to half being a success. -__- So this year, the ones I could think of on top of my head this morning was,
1. to get a driving license (finally!!! at the age of 27!!!)
2. to improve myself at work - Alhamdulillah I finally got a job early last year but I don't think I've done a good job at it. Being a leader and to manage a group of people was not in my expectation. I don't think I can lead. So this year, I'll do my best to lead and do my work. Although seeing the current situation now, I'd prefer to be a SAHM having an active 2yo toddler and 2mo baby and no maid, gives me a hard time leaving them. *wails* *poor Dad*
3. to take care of my skin better. No more neglecting my routine. "You only have one face, why mess with it" - Caroline Hirons. Hmmpfh!
*just thought of another one*
4. to become a better Muslimah. After all, we only have one life so why care the worldly matters so much. #notetoself :(

Do you have any new resolutions? Is it a yearly kinda-thing or on monthly or weekly basis? Oh how was your last year's resolutions, a success? Share with me maybe I can add them to my monthly resolutions. :) Have an exciting and wonderful year everyone!!!
